Seagulls Close Out Season With Dominant Win Over Legends
The San Francisco Seagulls closed out their 2025 season with an up-and-down final stretch, finishing the last eight games with a 2-6 record. While the team struggled to consistently find victories, they ended the summer on a high note with a dominant 13-2 victory over the Legends in their season finale on July 27, closing out a 10-27 record.
The week began with a tough two-game non-league homestand against the South Bay Storm. On July 15, the Seagulls dropped a close one, 7-4, and then fell again to the Storm on July 21 by a score of 4-2. The following night, they faced the Legends and suffered a 6-2 defeat despite solid contact at the plate.
Momentum shifted slightly on July 23 when the Seagulls earned a 7-4 win over the Sonoma Stompers at home. The offense came alive with timely hits to rally back, and the pitching staff held down the Stomper's lineup to secure the victory.
Unfortunately that spark was short-lived, as the team hit the road and dropped a 7-5 heartbreaker to the Alameda Merchants on July 24. The next day, they were blanked 5-0 by the Stompers, struggling to generate any offense.
Returning home on July 26, the Seagulls faced Alameda again and came up short, 4-2, in a tightly contested matchup. But in their final game of the season on July 27, the team delivered their best performance of the week—and arguably the summer—crushing the Legends 13-2 behind an explosive offensive effort and dominant pitching.
While the season didn't go the way the Seagulls had hoped in the win-loss column, the team showed flashes of growth and individual excellence. With the summer season now behind them, the players' focus will shift towards preparations for the upcoming college baseball season!
